For those Kanye West fans out there, his recent mixtape Can't Tell Me Nothing is a brilliant release, showcasing the talent on his label G.O.O.D Music label. From Kanye himself, to Common, to GLC, to Ne-Yo, this mixtape covers everything from the label. I'd just like to draw your attention to one song on the album-Us Placers by CRS (Child Rebel Soldier), a group made up of Kanye West, Pharrell Williams and Lupe Fiasco. According to the source of all our knowledge Wikipedia: "To date, the members have not decided whether CRS will exist beyond "US Placers," but they have not dismissed the idea". The song "Us Placers" was #43 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007. According to sources, there are plans for a CRS album in late 2008.
The flow of these three is fantastic, working together seamlessly. It's a brilliant track, but we need a video!

Nickelback-Rockstar
The first track I've decided to post is the newish song "Rockstar" by the band that the critics love to hate, Nickelback. After seeing the cool video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMTqJpQPlvU)h), I have to admit that I like this song.
The problem is the perception that Nickelback isn't really a group that "real" music fans listen to, not seriously. At least, this is my theory. Despite their albums being constantly panned by critics, they have a strong fanbase, and this song is one of their derivative, soft rock bests. I find myself wondering quite why I like it, and even more so why I'm posting it. Enjoy, I guess.

2008-a good year
Well, ladies and gentleman, this is my second attempt to enter to blogosphere. My previous blog (http://www.dropknowledgenotbombs.blogspot.com/) never quite got off the ground, and so I've moved my attentions elsewhere. Before I focused on "urban" films and music, mainly rap and reggae, but I've decided that with my eclectic tastes, my blog should be more reflective of what I listen to and watch.
So keep an eye out and keep reading...
